Beautycounter’s Impact Scholarship

Do you want to get paid for taking care of your skin and teaching others to do the same? Then you should checkout Beautycounter’s Impact Scholarship.

In this article I am going to tell you more about Beautycounter, its scholarship, what it means to be a consultant, and my story with winning the Impact Scholarship.

What is Beautycounter?

Founded in March 2011, Beautycounter’s founder is Gregg Renfrow.  Gregg Renfrow wanted to get cleaner beauty products into the hands of everyone.

The mission of Beautycounter is, “We are powered by people, and our collective mission is to get safer products into the hands of everyone. Formulate, advocate, & educate—that’s our motto for creating clean beauty products that truly perform while holding ourselves to unparalleled standards of safety.”

Beautycounter believes that beauty should be good for you.  I think that it should be good for you and to you.

What is the Beautycounter Impact Scholarship?

The Beautycounter Impact Scholarship was created for underrepresented minority groups, emphasizing African American, Hispanic/Latinx, Asian American, and Native American/Indigenous communities. However, Beautycounter wants to include everyone in their beauty mission, so they started the Impact Scholarship in 2021.

There is a limit on how many applications they accept; it is capped at 600 applications.  From those 600 applications, only 25 applications are selected to be Impact Scholarship recipients.  The 25 applicants per month will be chosen by reviewing application answers and a randomization cycle.

Beautycounter.com and its founder Gregg Renfrow want to include everyone in their effort to get clean beauty products into the hands of everyone.  With the Impact Scholarship Beautycounter gives you everything that you need to jumpstart your new beauty business.  The Impact Scholarship is accepted between the 1st and 8th of every month.  Beautycounter will notify Impact Scholarship winners through email on the 15th of each month.  Beautycounter is on Pacific Standard Time (PST,) so my email came around 10:45 EST (Eastern Standard Time.)

What’s included in the scholarship?

  • Digital enrollment kit
  • Deluxe skincare starter set:

INCLUDES:

Countermatch Collection, Countertime Collection, Countercontrol Collection, Counterstart Cococream Cleanser, Counterstart Cocoboost Moisturizer, Counter+ Overnight Resurfacing Peel, Counter+ All Bright C Serum, Counter+ Lotus Glow Cleansing Balm, Counter+ No. 1 Brightening Facial Oil, Counter+ Charcoal Facial Mask, Countermatch Sampler Pack (12-pack), Countertime Sampler Pack (12-pack), Countercontrol Sampler Pack (12-pack), and Overnight Resurfacing Peel Packettes (20-pack).

What’s it like to win a Beautycounter Impact Scholarship?

Honestly, it’s an incredible feeling!  So many emotions ran through me when I found out I won one of 25 scholarships.  When I found out I received the Beautycounter Impact Scholarship in December 2021, I couldn’t believe it.  I was one of 25 people selected out of 600 people.…they chose me!  I am not good with words, and somehow I was chosen as a recipient.  My essay, which must be a minimum of 500 words, focused on Beautycounter’s strive to get clean products into the hands of everyone, what I don’t want to put on my face, and why I believe in Beautycounter’s products.

You will be notified of your status no matter if you win the scholarship or not.  Beautycounter informed me at 10:45 EST (Eastern Standard Time;) Beautycounter is on PST (Pacific Standard Time,) so just because it is late, don’t think you haven’t won the scholarship.  That thought did run through my mind the later it got, but I was wrong in my thinking.  I never thought my email was coming, and I fell asleep, but when I woke up around 11PM EST and saw my notification on my lock screen for an email in my Gmail account, I was ecstatic and nervous at the same time.

I was unsure of the contents of that email, but once I saw “Congratulations,” my nerves left!  I was so excited that I woke my mother and sister up to tell them.  My sister, Theresa, was a massive driving force behind my applying for the scholarship.  Without her tenacity, I may not have ever applied for the scholarship. So I say this to say this, don’t count yourself out…you’re just what Beautycounter needs.

How do you apply?

Impact Scholarship | Beautycounter

Applying is easy; all it takes is a 500-word minimum essay.  I am in no way, shape, or form a wordsmith, but I somehow managed to pull together an essay and was selected for the Impact Scholarship.  If you genuinely believe in a product, anything is possible.

How can you use the products?

When I received my kit, I tried each product so I would be able to tell customers about the products.  I also did this because I wanted to know which skin types products worked best for which skin types.  You also want to try the products first because if you’ve never tried them before, you want to know what you need for your own skincare needs.

Beautycounter gives you everything you need to know about the products as well.  Or, if you’re not sure, there are sample cards that describe the products, and there is also a skin quiz customers can take to help you pick which products would work best for their skincare needs.  You can find all of this on the Beautycounter google drive, which you will gain access to once you’re a consultant.

Can you sell the items from the kit you get with the scholarship?

Unfortunately, you cannot profit from something you received for free, so I personally called Beautycounter to find out the answer. You can buy sample cups and use them to give samples to people or give them the bottles out of your set to try for a few days. Either way, they are getting the chance to try the products and are more likely to purchase from you.

Income disclosure statement

Within my first week, and before I even received my starter kit, I had sales of over $725.  With that comes a 25% commission.  So for a little over one week, let’s say 1.5 weeks, I made over $200 in commission.

*Sales are not always typical for everyone.  Please read the Beautycounter income disclosure statement below by clicking the link.
