My First Post
Hi everyone, I just wanted to thank you for stopping by my corner of the virtual world. I started this blog to inspire others to Keep Dazzling and shine on.
I thought it would be nice to do a little Q&A as my first post so that you could get to know me a little more. Well, here goes:
What inspired me to start the blog?
I used to be the type of woman who cared too much about what other women thought. Even what men thought about my appearance. I wouldn’t leave the house without being in full glam, hair, makeup, and well-dressed. I wouldn’t leave the house if I weren’t well put together.
But then, one day, I woke up and realized that other people’s perception of me wasn’t my perception of myself. I realized that I didn’t need the validation of others to feel pretty. I started my own small business as a Color Street stylist and started inspiring women from all over.
As long as I thought I was beautiful, that was all that mattered. I want to help other women get to that stage. I want to make women feel beautiful even on their rainy days, on days when they feel less than beautiful I want to be that person that reminds them that they are beautiful no matter what.
I want to use my words and personal experiences to inspire as many people as I can. I wanted to help women know their true beauty and help them realize that beauty is more than a pretty face; it is a lovely attitude and heart.
Why did I choose to start a side hustle?
I chose to start a side hustle to empower women and for the potential of my side hustle to turn into a job that I love, one that is worthwhile and has meaning and value to me. As long as you are passionate about something, you can and will be successful. I hope that my side hustle will lead to financial self-sufficiency and no more 9-5. How does it make me feel?
I feel like I am on top of the world and unstoppable. No more worrying about anyone’s opinion, but mine has been mind-blowing. I want to help change the world, one woman at a time, and knowing that I am helping someone makes me feel satisfied and proud. Who doesn’t like helping someone, right?
I hope that it makes others feel the same way, unstoppable, satisfied, and most importantly, proud. I want them to know that beauty is only skin deep. I want women to realize that the rest will fall into place if they are true to themselves. Your opinion is the ONLY one that matters; remember that your self-confidence will elevate to levels you never imagined.
My inspiration
The person that motivates me the most is my mom. When I look at my mom, I see a hustler, and I see someone that gets the job done no matter what. As a 60-something-year-old woman, my mom still gets up every day, goes to work, and makes things happen. She has recently started her own T-Shirt business and wants to break free from her 9-5 as well. She has shown me that you can still accomplish your dreams and be self-sufficient; anything I want to accomplish, I know I can do it because my mom has shown me that I can.
My goals
My goal is to gain more confidence in myself and to help inspire others. I hope that the confidence I gain as a blogger will inspire others to grow and accept the things they cannot change and know that they are beautiful inside and out. I also want to help women understand that the opinion of others doesn’t define who they are; their view of themselves is all that matters.
What’s next?
Next, I plan to expand my blog into other interests that I have in life. I want to be an open book for people to learn from what works for me and what doesn’t work for me. I want to help people on all types of different levels, but all self-help levels.
